These days most companies get their products delivered on wooden pallets.

Pet shops, food stores, construction sites, furniture shops, DIY stores, in fact, any place that sells products probably get their deliveries on a pallet, but what happens to them afterwards? Don’t let them become waste pallets, put them to good use.

Businesses often have huge amounts of pallets they need to discard of, some advertise to get rid of them, some businesses do deals with local companies to collect and recycle them. Many bigger companies pay for recycling firms to come and remove them, but however pallets are discarded of, it is usually inconvenient and costly. Everyone agrees that they have to be discarded of otherwise, they take up valuable space on your premises; nasty accidents could happen by people tripping over them, as well as being a potential fire hazard.

If only there were a way that would free up space, eliminate the risk of fire hazards and accidents, reduce costs on skip hire and collections and avoid landfill costs. If there were something that could do all of the above and also make a positive impact on the environment, which may even result in an environment award for your business, you’d be interested, wouldn’t you!

There is a better way! You have a source of energy in your hands; you just haven’t realised it yet, you can obtain energy from waste pallets.

Pallet waste can be used to produce heat and hot water by having a biomass system installed, and also giving you a return on investment within a given number of years.

A Biomass system could help:

Reduce waste removal costs

Reduce heating costs

Reduce accidents your premises

Reduce risk of fire

Reduce negative impact on the environment

Generate an income

And gives you a return on investment!

There’s even better news, organisations like The Carbon Trust wants businesses to reduce their carbon footprint and become environmentally friendly, so they offer guidance and financial support to help you reduce your energy bills. It’s a win-win, the world becomes greener, and your business saves money.

Buying and installing a biomass system is straightforward. It starts with a conversation with one of our Biomass specialists to discuss your needs and requirements. Our specialists will help you to choose a design which will suit your business and comply with the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) design standards. Using Selected Eco energy, you are assured that it has over 40 years experience in the industry, so you have peace of mind that you’re going to receive expertise and customer service that is second to none.

Once the initial consultation and design are done then a date to install is planned, it’s as simple as that.

From now on don’t look at your waste pallets as a burden, look at them as an energy source!

National Pallet Services did. Using a newly purchased kiln and 450 kw biomass boiler running for 1800 hours per annum, not only are they looking to save money on their direct wood source by up to a third. They will be generating around £25,000 per year from the government RHI incentive, most importantly it looks like their investment will be paid back in a little over three years. That’s forward thinking right there.
